Interesting old house but poorly managed Positive: Great location close to Browns campus however we had an awful stay. Negative: There is no onsite staff to deal with any problems you might encounter. There was an unruly guest on our floor who had a late night party blasting music, yelling obscenities in the hallway and shouting. Walls are thin in an old house and you can hear everything. Management was completely inept in dealing with the situation as all they are willing to do is attempt to email or call the other guests rather than confront them in person. For my horrible night experience they only offered me a partial refund of $100. Typically a hotel would comp that night. Be careful staying here because you are on your own and at the mercy of whomever else is staying there.

Positive: Beautiful, cozy, comfy, great location Negative: It's pet friendly, and I wish we'd known about this. I wish Booking.com would flag this better. Some barking dog late afternoon, we were not bothered overnight, and the owner was very reactive about it - which is appreciated. But per friendly should be advertised front and center.

East Side of Providence at its best! Positive: The Underwood-Hale House is an ideal place to stay for Brown/RISD parents visiting their children, or really anyone who wants to experience the amazing East Side of Providence. Superb cafes and restaurants are only a short walk from the house The rooms and common areas are charming and comfortable.

Positive: This place was so comfortable, clean, and well appointed. We were so comfortable here that last minute we decided to stay an additional night. The room was already booked, but there was another room that we were able to stay in last minute. I highly recommend the Underwood-Hale House!

This place is a gem. Positive: A lovely place to stay and a lovely town to visit. We just spent one day at Providence which is way too short. Will definitely come back in the near future.
